"Buntes Rauschen is the third full-length-record by ph4nt. in half a year!
It is not my intention to release an album like every three months, but at the moment it just kinda flows. Recording started in January, right about when Viel Lärm um Nichts dropped - i got a new little step-sequencer called VolcaDrum and just experimented, resulting in some more Industrial-type beats. By playing around with MiniNova patterns
and layers and little involvement of the classic Kaossilator, these tracks and various others developed into what you can hear on the record ;)

Lyrically, the record deals a lot with the passiveness at least i feel the year 2021 brought along - Trump is gone as the obvious villain, Querdenken seems to lose momentum, and people more or less get used to live in a pandemic state of uncertainty.
Obviously, the latter comes with rising anxiety & frustration for many people, and the former mustn't hide the fact that conspiracy ideologies and the so-called "Alt-Right", in other words, fascism, still play a big role in politics and society.
Furthermore, capitalism during pandemic even more increases the gap between rich & poor, and people as well as animals and the environment get exploited just like it has always been. Courts & cops are still trying to hold down people who challenge this system, while corona-deniers think they're the *real* freedom-fighters.
The songs on this album also question our own role in this capitalist, seemingly dystopian reality, gatekeeping in our queer communities, and what doing the "right thing" may mean. Oh, and there's also my very first lovesong - one shouldn't deny one's happy, gay feelings :D

All in all, i think the record turned out to be a little bit more claustrophobic and maybe dark, in places - which doesn't mean it's not packed with some anger-fueled Synthpunk...at least for my taste it's fitting springtime-music, and i hope some of you might enjoy it, too =^.^=

By the way, some friends and i made a compilation of various solidary artists, including some songs of ph4nt. & das_synthikat - the gains directly benefit a friend of ours, who has been falsely convicted in a political process :'( Details can be found in the about this release-section: solidarityfromanothergalaxy.bandcamp.com/releases "
